A Month of Celebration for Kajun Kettle Foods

November 2003 Brings a New Home & An Honor for Kajun Kettle Foods. Two exciting events took place: the company’s new USDA manufacturing facility opened for full production and the company was honored with Louisiana’s Lantern Award

Kajun Kettle Foods’ multi-million dollar renovations were completed in summer 2002 and its new 86,000 sq ft plant is fully operational! Their state-of-the-art equipment includes a new blast freezing system and a 5,000 lb horizontal kettle.

The company’s QA and Production Staffs worked hard to achieve USDA approval in July 2002 and AIB Certification with a rating of Superior in October 2003. This greatly increases the variety of products that the factory is able to provide its customers.

The Louisiana Department of Economic Development and the Louisiana Board of Commerce and Industry awarded Kajun Kettle the prestigious 2002 Lantern Award for District I, which encompasses five parishes within the Greater New Orleans Metro Area. Honorees were invited to receive their award at the Governor’s Mansion in Baton Rouge, La. Kajun Kettle was selected based on community involvement, facility expansion and employee growth. Past food manufacturing recipients have included Zatarain’s and Tony Chachere’s.
